It was wonderful!!! People believe in libraries and I hope they always do! Plus my local library made it so I could get a library card in the city so I can get into museum for FREE! So, really I'm saving money all the way around.Live from the Washington D.C. I was really worried it wouldn't pass, but when I dropping off my ballot at city hall a ton of people were out there and we were all out there mostly to vote yes for the library. I put a sign in my parent's yard, put flyers out in the our local park, and make sure my family and friends knew why it was important to vote YES. It was the first time I ever got into political. I thought it would pass easily, but on my neighborhoods facebook page they were talking about it, and someone actually said 'If it's not for schools I don't care, no more taxes!' PEOPLE AGREED! I was shocked. If they didn't get it then they would have to close smaller branches, close all the libraries on Wednesday, fire some workers, stop kids story time, stop the book mobile for rural areas etc. It would open the library for more hours and Sundays, after school homework help, STEM classes for kids, job help for adults, more seating computers etc. My county just voted to raise taxes (for only a year) for the library.
